This looks odd - I select nothing but a plain Shift-X text string and copy it down to the next stave, and it takes a tuplet bracket with it. How is this happening, I wonder?

Have you tried making the tuplet signposts visible? I don’t know if that would make any difference or not, but it’s worth a try.
I reproduce this. It’s exactly as Gareth describes. It also happens with Duplicate to Staff Above. (But not, of course, with Alt-click, or people would have noticed long ago).
I think we know about this. When we use Duplicate to Staff Above/Below it is taking more context than just the item itself. But I will check with my colleague Stefan about it in due course.
