Copying and/or saving a Midi sequence event

Has any one longed to be able to select a portion of a midi track and have it saved as a type of file. When I first started using Cubase back in Ver 4.5 I was somewhat surprised that I couldn’t find a track I recorded in Media Bay ( just like audio tracks. ) Sure, I could copy bits of sequence to other tracks or move them to different locations in the same tracks or export as a Midi file. It has occured to me many times that I would like to save only the sequence of notes ( like a sample file for instance ) in a separate file, using, perhaps the suffix midi.mlp for the filename extension, with just the velocities. Then it could be dragged and dropped into a midi track at just the right position or moved about like you would an audio sample.

An Example of where I would like to use it would be with drum tracks where I would have dozens of pre recorded or sequenced rythms and fills to past or drag and drop into a drum track.

If any one else feels the need for this as a feature in Cubase I would like to hear from you,

Thanks for listening.

Hi,

Drag and drop the MIDI Part to a Desktop (or other location).

Hi There Martin.

Thanks for this. I would never have thought of this as an option.
