Copying and pasting lyrics (The manual help could be better)

I hadn’t worked with vocal music for some months and had forgotten how it worked .

I was surprised to find how difficult it was to remember how to use it and the manual help was surprisingly obtuse. (unfortunately I couldn’t find the Anthony Hughes video on how to do it - how do I jump to the official videos? is there a link out of the product? ).

Once :slightly_smiling_face:we know what we are doing - it is of course quite self evident that one most often proceeds:

  1. by sticking a piece of text into a text buffer
  2. pressing shift L in Dorico
  3. then repeatedly pressing control V or command V.

It might work better if the help outlined this most common flow process before it went into all the detail of what to do when you want hyphens melismas etc.

Please don’t take my criticism in a very negative way. I’m only trying to help. It would be very sad if folks found the lyrics tool difficult to use when in reality it’s very easy. Its only fault is what happens if you make a mistake (surely not!) and want to redo - generally control Z or command Z won’t immediately help you because its eaten some text in the buffer.

As a non-native English speaker, I had to look up the word ‘obtuse’. I learned you probably found the manual pointless to this subject.

And that surprised me, when I searched for “copying lyrics”, I found this as the first search result

Which gives the exact workflow you eventually found out.
