Copying CD-Text and ISRC codes to Metadata ID3 in Wavelab Pro 12

I thought there was a way to import/copy the CD-Text and ISRC codes to the metadata ID3 window…maybe not? Just checking.
I want to make mp3s with this info included. It’s on the DDP.
Any help much appreciated.

Yes, this is possible, but you have to learn the variable system. The idea is that CD-Text items are available as variables. These variables can be referenced in the ID3 field.
Check the manual and also this forum since this topic has been covered many times.

Thanks for this. I’m fine with the manual. I just needed to know that is was possible. Thanks for the quick response.

FWIW, I have created a Metadata Preset that transposes a combination of CD-Text, Marker Names, and other data from the montage and populates it as metadata for when you render WAV and mp3 files.

The preset file is here:
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ham5dmi7cfsug2johzefe/JP-Start.dat?rlkey=r7oxnmnfck9mn8tmhbmtwzdam&dl=1

You can manually place that file in the correct folder by choosing “Organize Presets” (see attached) and exposing the folder on your computer in which WaveLab is looking for this preset. Once you find this location, put my preset file there too.

One Note: It uses the marker names for the track titles (and not the CD-Text) because while CD-Text is limited to certain characters, metadata is not so for cases where song titles have special characters (accents, etc.) that are not allowed for CD-Text, I make the CD-Text entry simplified and keep the marker name to be more accurate since metadata has less character limitations than CD-Text.

For most projects, the marker names and CD-Text names match but this approach allows for more flexibility when song titles have special characters.

I know this has been said many times, but thank you again for your generosity in sharing these presets with thee community.

Thanks Justin, I’ll put this in my presets. The mastering project is long since finished, but I’ll be putting this in my workflow for the future. Big fan of your site.
Thanks to all.
