Copying ONLY time signatures

Hello, I just want to copy and paste time signatures. The notes must remain unchanged. I know that I need filters for this. However, I cannot copy with these filters. Who can help me?

I’m not at my Dorico computer right now but you can select one time signature and press Ctrl/Cmd-Shift-A to select items of the same type (i.e. all other time signatures). You can then copy and paste.

You can also select one (or more) time signatures and use Alt/Opt+click to copy them to another location.

Thank you. But I’m not succesful furthermore. F.e., I want to copy the time signature from the upper stuff into the lower stuff (see screenshot)

Ah, well that’s a bit more specific than I anticipated. In that case I have a few follow up questions, just to clarify:

  • You want to change the time signature in the bottom staff to 3+3+2/8 but you want to leave the notes grouped as 3+2+3 (since you stated that you don’t want to change the notes)?

  • If you don’t want to change the notes, what about the dashed barlines in the bottom staff? Do you want them to remain as they are (which I don’t think is possible if you change the time signature) or do you want them to appear according to the 3+3+2 time signature?

I want to change only the rythmic structure of the lower staff to 3/8 + 3/8 + 2/8 like the upper staff, with the same grouping like the upper stuff. But the pitches/ notes of the lower staff must be unchanged.

With the method @Zalde was suggesting (Alt/Opt+Click) it should work:

Ah, thank you @zalde @charles_piano ! My mistake was, I clicked the bar (like in Finale) and not the time signature. About the Dorico filters I will learn more later, I’m sure

You beat me to making the video. I only wanted to add that Alt/Opt+click only works when replacing a global time signature with a local one, not the other way around (if I’m not mistaken)*. In which case you can of course simply delete the local time signature.

*(and of course when replacing a global time sig with another global time sig from a different place in the score, but that was not the example here)
