"correct" enharmonic for cues

I am writing out a Bari sax part (he band has lost the part score) from a conductor score. The Bari sax shows French Horn 3 cues. The French horn (in F) score is treble clef transposed score if in F (Bb). The notes to be cued are D and C#. On the Bari sax score (treble clef transposed score in G) the cues are shown as E and D#. When is insert the cues into Bari sax score they appear as E and Eb not E and D# as per the original for 3 bars, then after a bar of D and D in the Horn part the Bari sax cue notes revert to the E and D# as per the original (an arrangement of Kalinka by Ray Woodford).
Has anyone any idea why this happened?

To get the E and D# showing I deleted the first few bars of the Horn part and copy - pasted the bars which showed the right enharmonic of cues ! as by magic the cues are now in the right enharmonic.

I will appreciate =any insights as to why this happened.

I’m not sure to understand exactly what you’re looking for, but normally the cue’s spelling depends on the source instrument’s spelling. In your case, a C# (or F# concert pitch) in the Horn staff should give a D# in the cue. If you get an Eb, that’s probably because the original Horn note is a Db? If so, if you respell it as a C#, you should get your D# in the cue!

In Engrave mode, you can select a note in a cue and respell it using the usual Alt+-/= shortcuts.
