Count in notation

Hello! I arrange music for a cover band, and I was wondering what the best method would be if I wanted to notate the count in. Currently, I have been adding a jam block player, changing its name to “click”, inputting the desired count in, and using it as a cue in all of the other parts. However, this method requires me to change the bar numbers so that the actual music will begin on bar one.

Does any one else have recommendations? Thanks!

Any method would require this. It’s hardly onerous (select the first real bar. right-click>bar numbers>add bar number change. change it to 1. Job done)

When changing the bar numbers, the count in bars also get changed to “0” then I need to hide the count in bar numbers for each part individually. Is there a way to just hide them in the score, and have it apply to all parts?

  1. At the Intro add bar number change = 1
  2. At the beginning click add bar number change = Subordinate
    These show as “0a, 0b” by default
  3. Select all 3 and in Properties switch on Hide bar number

I wouldn’t worry about showing any numbers on the first system in the score or parts. The next system is enough to orient people.
