Crash on Quitting - v5.1.60, Mac

Since updating to v5.1.60 on Mac Ventura, Dorico crashes on quitting most of the time. Afterwards, it seems to launch ok, so I haven’t done anything about it except send crash reports with the “Send Crash Reports to Steinberg” dialog. I’m wondering if there’s anything else I can do that would be helpful?

I believe it always crashes when quitting with a project open and playback activated. I haven’t tested it beyond that.

I believe @Ulf is the expert in this area. Maybe he has some thoughts.

Thanks!

Hi @Eggsalad , yes, there are a bunch of plug-ins that are known to crash our audio engine during shutdown. If you could post here a diagnostic report (menu: Help > Create Diagnostic Report) I can have a look to confirm.
Btw, the crash reports you send directly into our bug tracking system are difficult to trace back to the user, therefore the extra diagnostic report please. Thanks

Thanks, @Ulf ! I’m messaging you, if that’s ok.

Sure, no problem

Hi @Eggsalad , actually no, turns out to be completely different. Actually it is Dorico that crashes, not the audio engine.
Apparently Dorico is still receiving MIDI input and while shutting down the software that deals with MIDI input gets into an undefined state and thus crashes. I’ve handed over your case to Daniel.

Thanks! This doesn’t appear to affect my work, so it’s not urgent, although an issue.

Seems that Daniel has already a fix for it. Will come out with the next version.
