After upgrading to 9.5 I’m disappointed this is still an issue. I believe the problem was introduced at some point in Wavelab 8.5’s lifecycle: on a Windows machine, if you have your My Documents save location set up to a network location, Wavelab crashes upon startup.
I’ve gotten around this by running Wavelab under a different account, but it’s a bit annoying that this problem has existed for years now with something that should be basic Windows functionality.
If any logs are needed, let me know, but I believe this is a known issue… If there are any other workarounds that let me retain my network save location, please let me know.
Thanks for the quick reply Philippe. I typically have to leave Wavelab running for a very long time (I usually walk away from it and lose track of time) before the “Open” screen finally appears and it crashes.
I did not wait that long, but I ran the tracer and got thousands and thousands of these lines before I finally force closed the EXE:
4A3C: [ 836.845 / 19004 W Log.Paths] filterAcceptsRow recursion
4A3C: [ 836.885 / 19004 W Log.Paths] filterAcceptsRow recursion
4A3C: [ 836.946 / 19004 W Log.Paths] filterAcceptsRow recursion
4A3C: [ 836.987 / 19004 W Log.Paths] filterAcceptsRow recursion
Hope this tells you something… let me know if there is anything else I can send your way.
