Create drum map from instrument mysteriously broke

Folks, we have a solution. . .

I found this topic: Drum map editor for Cubase/ Sample DrumMaps

a long time ago - tried it and it didn’t work - disgusted and down I gave up and went back to creating them by hand. FFW many months and a couple of back and forths it’s working! A forum user Jun-Murakami has developed a program that will read a CSV file from BFD - export it to a drm file ready for loading as a cubase drum map.

The gist of it is to create your drumkit in BFD (as you would normally) and click on the keymap tab in BFD. Click on the Tools button on the far right-hand side and choose “export map as CSV” Open that CSV file in @Murakami_Jun 's program and export as a drm file (cubase drum map file) Open cubase - insert instance of BFD - switch to drum map editor within cubase and load the drm file. Boom! Done!
Unfortunately, I think the days of create drum map from instrument days are over for 3rd party instruments as it really only works with cubase/steinberg instruments - but this program (even tho it requires a few quick steps) will fit the bill nicely.

Give it a try if you find yourself in the need!

Now to just hope BFD doesn’t drop export to CSV support anytime soon!

Working with BFD 3.5 and Cubase 15 as of this writing.

Edit: Yikes! Forgot the most important part - use his 1.5 version of Cubase Drum Map Editor!
