'Create New Folder' crashes Cubase 5 to desktop...

I’m running Cubase 5.5.3 64bit in Windows 7 64bit with a UR28M. I usually have HALion 4 64bit loaded into the project (if that makes any difference).

Here are the steps to create this problem:

1.) File → Open…

2.) Clicking the “Create New Folder” button (circled in red in picture below) causes Cubase to crash to the desktop.
(Right-clicking also causes a crash. The context menu pops up briefly but immediately crashes to desktop.)

This happens in any of the file dialog windows (save, save as, etc.).

I can create new folders in Explorer if I need them, but it would be nice to know if this bug can be fixed.

This isn’t a deal-breaker but I have to be careful not to try and create a new folder or I might lose all my work since the last auto-save - plus it’s annoying to have to reload the app again.

Thanks!

Ok so this problem is starting to really irritate me. I hope someone at Steinberg has seen this thread and at least acknowledges that this bug exists. It’s so easy to forget that right-clicking inside a file dialog causes a crash. I am constantly losing work because I try to create a new folder and Cubase crashses and disappears. Please Steinberg help me fix this problem!

Can you try to save your project to different HDD?

Tried making a new folder on a different hard drive and it still causes a crash.

So it doesn’t look, loke permission problem, or problem with un-supported characters.

I appreciate your help. I’m not exactly sure what’s happening. I’m guessing it’s a problem with 64-bit Cubase and having multiple harddrives installed. This never happened with 32-bit as far as I remember.
