Creating a new Dynamic Symbol

Hi,

I want to create a new Dynamic Symbol as requested by a conductor [fsfz]. I understand I cannot add any new symbol but only to replace one already in place. I this moment, I have to manualy insert an [f] besides the sfz and then going to the Engrave Mode to slide it in front of the [sfz]. Is there a way to create and add the new symbol ?

You could create it as a Playing Technique; though it wouldn’t play back whatever effect it is that they think can’t be represented by any other existing symbols.

I’ll try that, benwiggy.

I was thinking of replacing one unused dynamic (like ffffff) by the new one, but it seems I cannot delete the original glyph.

You should be able to.

It is their own work…?

No, it is a new editing of a work by Louise Farrenc (1804-1875).

Make sure it’s identifiable as an editorial…!

So I will go with the replacing of the [ffffff] by [the new music symbol]. It is really about the print information. The playback is not really of a concern at this point.

Thank you, benwiggy. Always nice to connect with someone in dark moments…
