Creating a new flow overwrite added page of previous flow

This is a new one for me. I have created a project and have added a song. At the end of that song I added a page of text containing the lyrics as a separate sheet (pretty common in art song). I now create a new flow for a new song and it lands on that separate sheet, creating a mess.

How do I tell Dorico that the text page is part of the flow? Or do I tell it which page to start the flow?

Any help appreciated

Yes, you have done a manual override by creating that page with a text frame. It is recommended to do this as a very last step in your project.

This means of course, that if you add a new flow, it won’t be your last step any more.
So it would be better to start a new separate project.

So, extra pages are attached to the project, not to the flow? Therefore if I want to create a collection of songs, say, I would need to do these all as individual projects and stitch them together externally in an different editor, such as a group of PDFs, assuming I have extra pages for each of these songs containing lyrics, translations, and so on?

You can create it in one project, but first write all flows without changing the default layout and manual adjustments should be only after you finished all of them.

Okay, I can see that. So first create as many flows as you think you might need, perhaps a few more for “just in case,” then adjust as necessary. with extra pages, again as needed.

Thanks for your help, guys!

Mark, not exactly. You have to have finished inputting music into your existing flows.
Only then add the necessary graphical overrides.

Got it. Thank you!

HI @mark5009, is not very clear to me how you added the text page. To have maximal flexibility and no overrides, you can create new page templates with the needed text, and then insert page template changes where needed. You can move those inserted PT changes using the arrows in the Pages panel in Engrave mode.

If you can upload your project, we can give more precise advices based on context.
