Creating chimes?

When I try to add chimes to a percussion player tubular bells are added instead! Bug? And they are classified as “pitched” percussion Why?

This happens with the English interface and German instrument names.

Strange, Tubular Bells is the English name for Chimes.
They are pitched percussion.

Chimes is a more common name than tubular bells afaik. (sorry Mike Oldfield)

You might want to use a mark tree instead? That’s what I have done when I have had that same problem.

Ah, maybe that’s what he wants, or wind chimes.

I wonder why Dorico does not know the terms “Wind Chimes” and “Bar Chimes”, which are what I was taught to call them. You read “Wind Chimes” in German percussion parts all the time - often abbreviated to just “Chimes”, which in turn leads to quite some confusion with younger percussionists who wonder how to play specific notes on their Wind Chimes instrument

Good news is we now have an Instrument editor, so we can create whatever we need
Wind chimes can be created (with an Alias to Mark tree). I just created an Éoliphone

Wind chimes are a very wide definition. Can be made of seashells, metal, bamboo, glass etc. Although you usually write bamboo chimes, shell chimes, or glass chimes then.

Here’s the two info pages of Klas Torstensson - Redskap for 6 percussion players. Also uses Iron chimes.

Yes, I will use this term from now on.

And when I add “Mark tree” I get the instrument “chimes” in German
