Creating multimeasure rests anywhere in a score easily

How can I create multimeasures rest any where in a score easily.
1)
If I want the rests cover all the three parts/players (trb, tnr, trp)
2)
If I only want rests to cover just 1 or 2 of the parts/players

I want to be able to create the rest as I go along creating the score.
In Finale this was very easy - drag the mouse & selectt any number of measures & choose the command “Create Multimeasures Rest”

Welcome, @Max_Wiberg

You can configure Multi-measure rests for the Score in Layout Options > Players > Bar Rests – as you would for parts. But obviously, you would only get them in the score where ALL staves had rests at the same time.

You can’t get an MMR in just one part, because it’s a score and the barlines have to align for all instruments. So a 23-bar rest in one part would be the same length as the 23 bars in the other staves.

You could create a new part layout that’s not a score and add all three players.

How do I decide/create the exact number bars of multirests in the score.
Can I create several multibar rests in the same score.

Simple example in some older soulmusic the horns does not play a whole lot continuosly - just some stabs here and there - to save paper it would be very convenient to be able create more than one multimeasure rest.

You do not need to create multi-bar rests, Dorico will do it for you. Indeed the default for each Part Layout (not the Full Score) is to use Multi-bar rests.

The setting is in Layout Options>Players>Bar Rests and Multi-bar rests

Ok I got it - for the example of creating MMR over the whole score - wher all tha parts/players line up - så they all are playing or quiet the same time.

Thanks all!
Take care and have a great day
