Creating short bars before repeat sign

Apologies if this has been answered before, but I’ve searched the forum, etc. with no luck.

What’s the best way to create a short bar to balance an anacrusis? I know how to create the repeat sign but am not sure how to create, e.g. a 3 beat bar to match a 1 bar anacrusis.

Thanks Alain, that works very well for a 4/4 example - I’ll remember it for the future. However, I can’t get it to work with my piece which is in 6/4 - I selected the rest, chose the repeat sign, but it just split the bar as shown in the attached png

I guess you could make the last bar 5/4 and just hide the time signature…?

Solved it - I had to delete the time signature shown above the rest. This created an extra bar which I was able to delete using Trim Flow.

Brilliant :slight_smile: I didn’t even have to delete the KS, just hitting Trim flow fixed it. I tried to add 2 more flows with the same scenario and those flows trimmed themselves as soon as I clicked the repeat sign… :astonished:

Thanks, I’ll try Trim Flow first next time. I’m not sure I understand what’s happening, but if it works…
