Critical bug in Cubase 13

Hi Steinberg I found a critical issue in Cubase that results in a crash 100% of the times a certain thing is done. There’s no easy way to contact support from your website so I’m writing here.

BUG:
I have a key command for closing and opening the EQ channelstrip view on the channel I’m currently standing on - I click “e”
so I opened the eq, pulled some band and moved it around, while still holding it with the mouse and press E at the same time causes this error and then immediate full crash of cubase without saving or anything.
Attached is the image of the crash.

Please have this sent to the correct technical person so it’ll be fixed, I save compulsively but if someone doesn’t and it’ll happen to them it’ll be a real bummer…

Would you mind posting the .dmp file mentioned in the error message in this thread?

Bug reporting is problematic, if it occurs on a version that’s not the most recent

Hi, so to address both things here.
The version was almost latest, I updated and now this doesn’t happen anymore.
now whether it doesn’t happen because it was fixed, or because of magic since everything was reinstalled, I don’t know.
I Don’t think it is related because the release notes contain nothing about a bug that caused a crash in such occasion, or at all from the version I had and to latest version.
So I’m pretty sure that with some time it’ll just start happening again.

and for the second thing, here’s the .dmp file attached.
Cubase 13.0.10 64bit2024.2.21 0.47.51.947.dmp (2.4 MB)

Is there a start up option to block all of the plug-in’s? If so, you could try that.

It wasn’t a result of any plugin it happened on stock EQ and even on a completely empty project.
Anyway, doesn’t happen after the update but I have a new bug instead. on frequency EQ the listen mode doesn’t actually work anymore.
great updates :smiling_face_with_tear:
