Crop marks in landscape print mode

Hello,

I’m trying to print a two page layout DIN A6 onto a single DIN A4 landscape page with crop marks.

  • So I configure “two-pages on one sheet” in the print area.
  • In the page setup area, when I select portrait mode, I see a DIN A4 sheet with two DIN A6 pages next to each other and crop marks - which is fine.
  • However, the width of two DIN A6 = exactly DIN A4 width. As I cannot print borderless I need to switch to landscape mode.
  • When switching to landscape mode, the two DIN A6 (portrait) pages are fully scaled to fit DIN A4 landscape, which is wrong. They should remain at 100% DIN A6 scale and be centered within the DIN A4 page.

Seems like a bug to me, as I cannot find a way to get two DIN A6 portrait (=DIN A5 landscape) centered on a DIN A4 landscape page with crop marks.

Thanks for thinking about this!

Hmm. It does seem wrong. I agree that at 100%, 2 A6 pages should fill half the sheet, not the entire sheet.

You can scale them down by 71%, but the pages are separated by some distance, which may not be what you want.

Are you actually planning to cut the paper down to the trim size? Why not just print to an A5 sheet?

It may be best just to print to PDF, and then deal with the imposition and marks in another app.

Thanks for checking… the purpose would be indeed to cut at crop marks and to be able to fold the resulting A5 landscape.

In the meantime I have started post-processing with LaTeX and that produces exactly the result I want but would be easier if it just worked.
