Crossfades

New to Cubase after many years with ProTools. My biggest issue so far is trying to get used to Crossfades. I get all the methods available and that it’s more automated than PT but Cubase just behaves so bizzarly. So lets say I have a bass part with multiple drop ins. Roughly 10 events over one track which I just want to mend the joins between in order to smooth out the audio drop-ins/outs. I’ll select two events and press X and, as I believe it is designed to do, the Cfade is applied and all is well. But I find that the first Cfade is the only one to behave the way it should. Further Cfades will either stretch across an entire event or in one instance flip to a previous event.

Am I missing something? Manual Crfades with PTs were so easy I almost did it unconsciously. But this seems to have different intentions and it’s standing in the way of my workflow. Was Cubase always like this?

This is not the normal Cubase behaviour. It should work on all events just the same.
As you are a newcomer to this forum you will not have the right to upload a screenshot yet. You need to spend some 30 minutes reading in the forums to be granted this right.

But a screenshot from the project, especially those events would be helpful.

Here’s how to be able to post screen shots, private message, and other advanced features:

As well as using the manual crossfade you can apply an auto cross-fade across all joins. Select the track and it’s in the inspector.
