CTRL+Select multiple mixer channels not working 7.5.30

In Cubase 7.5.30 you cannot hold CTRL and select multiple mixer channels to group or link together.

Pretty sure this was working in 7.5.20

cubase 7.5.3 64 bit : worked here
cubase 7…3 32bit : worked here
I open the mixer : press [Ctrl] and select other channel by clicking with the left mouse button under the “E” of each other channel: everything ok as expected ( all in gray)

do that using shift for selecting more in bulk. but you need to click in one area only, between the racks and the faders. super unintuitive but you come to expect that…
