I am sharing this in case it is useful to others with my problem. Cubase (10.5 and 11) was crashing after closing the first project brought up in a session and opening another project. Sometime the crash happened during my work on the second project, and sometimes the crash occurred when I closed the second project and I only new because after closing the project Cubase shut down altogether. I narrowed down the problem to a Waves file called WaveShell1-VST 9.92_64x, which housed all my Wave Plugins that were lower than version 10. When I removed this file from the upload chain into Cubase, the problem stopped. I decided to upgrade the Wave plugins that were version 9 to version 12, and deleted WaveShell1-VST 9.92_64x. This solved the problem. It cost me the price of the upgraded plugins, but the problem went away. Thanks you for your help in getting to the bottom of this. Cheers!
