Cubase 10.5 update from Cubase 10 - installation stops abruptly

Hello world,

full happy to buy the Cubase 10.5 update, I run the Download Assistant (1.16.3) and select the Cubase Pro 10.5 button. I see that my computer (Win10 /64 bits) is correctly detected. Cool !
Then in the right panel, I select "Cubase Pro 10.5 - Update from 10.0
The download start…
When complete, I click on OPEN and the Download Assistant show me the Downloads folder and its content:
C:\Users\bababa\Downloads\Steinberg\WIN64\Cubase Pro 10.5 - Update from 10.0
with this unique file in it:
Cubase_10.5_Update_Installer_win.exe

So I double-click on it and the preparation of the installation start, saying:
Extracting files to temporary folder
Extracting from Cubase_10.5_Update_Installer_win.exe
Cool…

In the bottom of this window, I can see the different additional contents like Padshop, Groove Agent and so…
Cool…

Then, a second window opens: “Cubase 10.5 Installation”.
And here, after a few seconds, a message comes:

Not cool… :-/

It’s in french: it says that the installation package for the Steinberg Library Manager is not found, and to restart with a valid Cubase 10.5 package.

After two attempts, I downloaded the file directly on this page: Cubase 10.5 Updates and Downloads | Steinberg but the result and the message are exactly the same…
:-/

Any idea, someone ?

Hi and welcome,

Could you try to unpack the file manually and try to install from the unpacked folder,r please?

Hi !
Thanks Martin for your answer.

But meanwhile the Steinberg support answered me: the Steinberg Library Manager must be installed and up-to-date, in order to allow the installation of Cubase.
I’ve seen this thing nowhere…
Perhaps Steinberg should mention this in the PDF of the installation ?

Anyway, now I was able to install, and it works perfectly.
Now I’m going to discovering the novelties of 10.5 !

Hi,

I’m glad it works for you and thank you for sharing the knowledge.
