Cubase 10.5 USB dongle acting strangely on its own

Specks : Desk top Intel , i 3, 9/10 generation , 16 gb DDR 4 RAM , O/S 240 GB SSD , bckup drive 1TB 7200 rpm Hard disk . Cubase registered on USB dongle crashing , now stopped , after pluging USB dongle to back of Desktop PC . . screen shots attached.

Only Cubase 10.5 fully loaded.

USB dongle attached to PC on Mother board .

Opened Cubase add instrument track : Halionsonic , Instrument.

Midi keyboard plays tone , minute later ,

The save project appears , so I save a name. saved .

Get back to Cubase ., the selected instrument has changed to piano. Halionsonic track unselected. No tracks selected .. yet midi controller plays new instrument .

Select halionsonic again . and old chosen instrument plays ..

Started to record track , instantly , revert to previous saved version appears , ( attached screen shot ) I cancel the mesg ..

Load another instrument , plays for a minute . mesg prompts a serious problem has occurred , contact Steinberg ( screen shot attached )

Click ok , Cubase plays , the new instrument track vanished..

Same prompt again revert to previous track , this time I ok it .. reverted. (So lost all the work , if I had work .. )

Mute every track but a piano track plays in the back ground..

Now works , first time didn’t crash .

In one of the screen shot it says , registered to another user ?? why ??

But acts strangely weird and on its own ..

I don’t see this message in your attached screenshots.

It looks like you registered the eLicenser yourself and you did that under a different email address.

These screenshots typically show that there are different email addresses in use, you can’t simply register again under a different email address.

You have used the name of the email address (earthdesignz.inc) visible in the screenshots previously here in the Forum, now you have a different name. Are you using two different accounts here?

Btw.: What about the crash dump upload

The two things that report no valid license are part of the BasicFX Suite that comes with UR22. Your old license for these would be on elicenser not in activation manager but if you installed new versions then you need an activation manager license. You should have got a voucher in your account to update the license. You’ll have to contact support if not.

Thanks for your replies , so how do i sort that out 2 different email ID ? shouldnt Steinberg stop me from doing so , as i was already registered on my 1st email iD , thats stubbonla@yahoo.com, 2 . yes I am using the Steinberg UR 22 C , that must be the basic suite , how do i go back and find that elicence ?? appreciate your efforts . sam

RE : Btw.: What about the crash dump upload : after the changed USB on Mother port , there are no crashes any more , but erratic behavior on part of cubase , deleting tracks , enlarged large fonts , light blue screens with just the mouse cursor , some times i have to reset , Cont + alt + del. to get back .

How on earth are they supposed to know that this email is the same person as the already registered one to stop you creating a new account??

If the new account has no licenses attached to it then simply login with the old account. If you have things now split between the two then contact support and explain.

As to the various other problems you’re having. Sounds like a major corruption. If wiping and reinstalling doesn’t fix this then I would suspect something else on your computer is interfering with it or some hardware is failing.

All my software . was registered to my old account and the USB and some elicencing .. yes i did make a mistake logging in with a new email iD , and even tried registering on it ( only due what i read , the the USB dongle is going to be obsolute.. ) what i meant , is the system should not have allowed me to register to this new email ID , sa i was already registered , but digital makes errors as well, now i found the old email ID , am logging in with it , slowly , n very slowly my issues are being solved.. at least Cubase stopped crashing. but acting on its own .. I wish for some one at Steinberg , please , delete my new account earthdesignz , and let me RIP just with the older uSD dongle.. , till i sort out , n figure a way to cubase 12 or so , n ok my fault i was out of site when Steinberg made the big switch.. as far as the RE : Sounds like a major corruption , i still feel its the , split of software on the old account and the new one.. n thanks for your insights .. as for now i would be ok with a stable USB Cubase 10.5 and absolute n the few software i have.. ..

also i see earned from steinberg anniversary , first likes, editor .. what are these ?? just pls instead give me my old Cubase days ..

It did tell you that your eLicenser is already registered to another user, so you got the message.

You need to open a support ticket for that.

The “big switch” works with your old account as well, there is no need for something new. Just keep one account, that is all.

It can’t possibly know you are already registered when you used a different email, that’s all it sees….you’re just a new user with an email it’s never seen before.

Any split of licensing to two accounts should not cause the kind of issues you describe.

Unfortunately I think you have something else going on….just not sure what.
