Cubase 10 - When doubleclicking MIDI, open it centered on screen?

This is a bit weird as I am sure this used to work before, but at some point stopped working for some reason.

When I have a short MIDI part that I doubleclick on, it opens in a new window just like I prefer. But, it opens it so that the actual MIDI is just a tiny sliver and the editor itself appears to always show the ENTIRE project range, making the editor very annoying to use as you always have to first zoom around to make the actual MIDI part visible. Here’s an example. I have done nothing else except doubleclicked on the MIDI:

As you see, the actual MIDI is just a tiny section.

I would like it to show up something like this when doubleclicking:

And I’m pretty sure that’s how it used to be. But now some setting is making it like the upper screenshot, but not sure what setting controls it? I couldn’t find anything that sounds relevant in the preferences for Editing or MIDI or in the Key Editor itself.

Edit:

And I now noticed that this only happens in some project files (all created in Cubase 10), but not all. In others it works exactly like the second screenshot, so this must be a project-level setting. But which?
