Cubase 11 Pro USB Dongle

Hello everyone

I own Cubase 11 Pro, but did not use it for a couple of years now

I just saw the Steinberg message about the end of the usb dongle service

I kept reading at the help center about the whole transfer and such and also their message about upgrading to the new elicenser, something about the vouchers

At my account page I dont see anything there

Also wasn’t sure enough who’s eligible for the voucher and who isn’t

Maybe I’m too late? :smiling_face_with_tear:

Was wondering what are my options now

Thank you all very much :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi and welcome to the forum!

In contrast to many Steinberg libraries and virtual instruments, Cubase 11 won’t be migrated to the new licensing system but still requires the USB eLicenser (dongle). You can keep using it as long as your dongle works. So, there are no vouchers for a Cubase Pro update. However, you can of course buy an update to the recent version if you like. That one uses the new licensing system and no longer requires the eLicenser.

As mentioned, you can continue using your Cubase 11 with the elicenser dongle on your Windows 11 system. All self-contained. As long as your dongle works or is not lost, Cubase 11 will work.

Do you mean that you want to buy Cubase 15?

Cubase 15 doesn’t utilize the elicenser dongle in any way.

Continue as you are.

Hey thanks for all the replies

Well, I wanted to know if I might be eligible for the upgrade by Steinberg, according to their mail some users got free upgrade to a newer version

I guess I will wait for the discounts and upgrade to the new 15 Pro :star_struck:

Have a great day everyone
