Cubase 12.0.40 | Mac - keep crashing because of "Dispatch queue: com.apple.NSURLSession-work"

Hi,

I’ve installed Cubase Pro 12.0.40 on Mac, Monterey 12.5.
Often Cubase crashes while lunching. 12.0.30 was totally fine on this regard.

Crash log says:

Thanks for your help!

So, after starting up the computer the crash happens 100% of the time.
On the second attempt Cubase finally starts up.

I’ve re-installed 12.0.30 (and I realized that installing 12.0.30 over 12.0.40 is not possible unless deleting first 12.0.40). With 12.0.30 the crash reported above never happens.

Can we have a hot fix please? I enjoy the new remote control functions.

Could you please sent me the crash report file?

Thanks!
Matthias

Certainly! First thing tomorrow morning.
Thanks so much!

Goodmorning Matthias,

very weirdly Cubase has stopped crashing today! I had deleted all the crash reports yesterday, but I hit the “send to Steinberg” button so many time. Is there a way you could get that report that way? Yesterday I sent many.
Let me know if there’s any other info I can provide to help.

As soon as I’ll get a crash again I’ll send it to you.

The crashes that are “sent to Steinberg” are completely anonymous and can’t be tracked back to you. So please sent me another one if possible and we’ll have a look.

Hi,

For Mac the crash/ips files are available here:
macOS Console utility > Crash Reports (or ~user/Library/Logs/Diagnostic Reports).

Thanks Martin.
I had deleted them all yesterday while doing some clean up.
As soon as crash will appear again Ill send one over.

Thanks all for your help!

Hi Matthias,

crashed reappeared today. I tried to send it as a private message, but system says you’re not accepting messages at the moment.
I then sent it to Martin, and asked if he could forward it somehow to you.

Please let me know if you received it.

Thanks all!

Thanks a lot!
I’m gonna send you another one Martin, since this keeps happening, maybe that could be useful.

Hi,

Could you please ZIP your Cubase preferences folder and attach it. Cubase 12 Preferences folder (on Mac) is:
~/Library/Preferences/Cubase 12

Could you try in the Cubase Safe Start Mode [Disable preferences], please?

Hi Martin!

Thanks. I didn’t get yet if disabling the preference helped or not as I get this crash randomly.
The certain thing is that makes it crash is always reported on the crash log as “Dispatch queue: com.apple.NSURLSession-work”.

I’m uploading the preferences via PM (I’ve just deleted few templates as the files would have been for GBs).
Thanks for your help!

Hi, I’m uploading some other crashes, which happen for the same reasons, it seems.
Hope that’s helpful.
