Cubase 12.0.70 does not have “Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth”

Computer system: Windows 10
Cubase pro 12 v12.0.70
How to manually enable the “Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth” port in cubase12。

Since v12.0.52, cubase12 no longer displays the “Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth” port. I need to use the sound of the “Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth” that comes with Windows. How can I enable this port?

The article did not mention how to manually enable it.

There is no ‘Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth’ port in my cubase12。
Thanks!

help me!

I don’t know how to bring it back by means of Cubase.
If you install a vitual midi cable app you might be able to route midi through such a virtual cable to the MS GS Synth.

This is literally crazy. In Cubase 13 there are several templates that require this port to even function. When the port isn’t available the user will experience a loud POP and an error message, and a resulting failure to load properly.

Why did they leave these templates but remove the necessary means to use them (a year or so ago…)?

That is amazing given that we are talking about a midi port and midi makes no sound.

The pop is apparently from Windows attempting to change the Windows Sound Device, then realizing that it’s blocked. I’ve had these pops with a few different sound cards whenever I change sample rates for example - I have fairly powerful studio monitors so the pop could be exaggerated here. If I would change from ASIO to some Windows protocol it could pop. Maybe you don’t hear these? In this case it could be because of RME trying to make some change and then needing to back out, while meanwhile RME is being operating as my “Speakers” in Windows - meaning it is already functioning at 2 levels in Windows. (E.g. it has a driver for Speakers, and a driver for RME audio and digital ports and so on. ) At the moment I think Ableton is the only DAW that hasn’t “liked” my use of RME as my “Speakers” device (allowing me to use it to watch tutorials). The other DAWs have no issue with me going back and forth from a session to several video files. RME showed me how to improve that set up a few years back and since then it’s been brilliant.
