Cubase 12.0.70 won't record midi

Hi all!
I bought a new mac (Macbook Air 15" M2, running MacOS Ventura 13.5) and started installing my music production software.
While Cubase 12.0.70 plays back my midi performance properly, it will not record it. It acts pretty weird as you can see in the video below (video is muted but audio actually works):

I tried that on both Rosetta and Apple Silicon modes.
Anybody has experienced that?

Hi @E.J

Does the mini monitor show anything unexpected?

Thank you for your reply!
I just ran this test (See video) and it seems like the problem is with the bluetooth midi keyboard. This is so odd. It works fine with the built-in on-screen keyboard.
Not sure how to approach this. The bluetooth keyboard I use is M-Vave 25

Ah, good idea to try the onscreen keyboard!

I would try the following steps:

  • Install the latest drivers for your keyboard from the manufacturer’s website.
  • Unplug your keyboard
  • Restart the computer
  • Plug the keyboard into another(!) usb port.

This doesn’t seem to be a Cubase problem but just to be sure:

Yeah, I also tried that with the wired USB connection and it works fine. So it has to do with the bluetooth connection. It’s so odd! It DOES play my performance properly and only mess up while tracking.

I think that’s expected behavior.
Playback is done by Cubase without any reliance on the Bluetooth connection.

Check the manufacturer‘s website for an updated driver. Maybe that fixes it.
This could be the official website? Check your manual to make sure…
