Cubase 12 (and 11) often hangs when loading my template project- help!

Hi all,
I’ve had this problem for a while now, through 11 and now 12. I’ve had the same template using a bunch of VSTs - but sometime when loading it up cubase hangs…I thought this was to do with the Spectrasonics plugins , but I’ve taken them out and is still happen… it gets stuck on “loading channel”… and it could be any channel… has anyone any ideas to fix this? Thanks!

Any ideas anyone? I’ve tried trashing preferences…this sometimes works for a wee while, then it hangs again…appreciate any help!
