hello don’t know if it is a strictly oxygen related issue …but
i made a a map…but many things don’t work properly
For example the sliders don’t reach the maximum value possible of the assigned controller
And, worste, the knobs don’t work…they just move like on/off from the zero to the half of value(also in reverse mode…oxygen knob 0 cubase fader half, oxygen knob at max cubase knob 0)
Button works when i map them but then when i assign them don’t work anymore
Pads are not recognized as midi controller so useless for mapping
Are you using a pre-made surface editor script, or did you make it yourself? When you create the MIDI remote surface, all elements must work well. Even before you create your first page and create assignments. You should be able to push a fader and see that the fader on screen follows the movement perfectly (well, as perfectly as possible, not all hardware is perfect) You should be able to turn a knob on the oxygen and the knob on screen should follow the movement exactly.
For the pads, you can set them as buttons, because buttons also receive velocity, so no problem there. I have my AKAI MPD218 pad controller set up as a set of buttons and it works fine. (Now if your pads also support RGB colors and such, I’m afraid I don’t know how to set these up.)
But I have seen that the Oxygen PRO has some sort of “modes”? For DAW and CC? Maybe that’s the problem? Because the DAW control is supposed to happen on MIDI port 3 (so that’s the port you should choose for the remote), and you’re just supposed to load the preset for Cubase. But the keyboard and pads are on the Oxygen Pro port instead? How to use those together. Seems complicated.
Isn’t there a user preset where you can just let the M-Audio send plain MIDI from all its controls? That would be the easiest thing to set up (for me).
i create myself
Before assigment i see fader working well, transport button working well…but the fader do what i told you…tey just behave like: 0 or half
The pads…don’t work as button
Oxygen pro for what i see has mode for daw for sure…and if fader and transport work why knobs shouldn’t?And yes it is set on midi 3
an for the rest may be it is complicated don’t know…i haven’t got a script for cubase anyway, i am doing my own
p.s.
if i use the oxygen in the preset mode , which is supposed to work for controlling vst, the knobs work fine
update: i could assign the knobs using them as MIDI CC and not as mackie control
No signs ffrom the buttons though…even using midiox i cannot see any midi signal coming from them
Hello Stefano
I’m also using M-Audio Oxygen Pro Mini, yes I got problem with knob which is the knob not working properly. But, someone suggest using User DAW instead Cubase on DAW mode.
thanks…i don’t have a USER DAW" option. Other than all the sw like cubase, logic repaer ecc…i have
M.P.C which i don’t know what could be
and PRESET
May be you mean PRESET?
No, it’s the DAW Mode, there’s name “USER” in DAW mode. In my Oxygen Pro Mini, it can activated with hold button to select DAW or PRESETS mode. (I remember that 25, 49 and 61 are different).
Here’s the picture :
Hi Stefano,
Did you have any success setting up your Oxygen Pro 49 in Cubase? Would appreciate if you could share how you made it work, especially the knobs.
Thanks! Edwin
