I just got cubase 12 but I cannot figure out how to get sound. I have looked up tutorials but they are old and don’t match what I see on my screen.

Which driver has been selected in the Studio > Studio Setup > Audio System? How does the Studio > Audio Connections > Outputs look like?
Are you on Mac or Windows, please? If you are on Mac, make sure Cubase has enabled Mic in the System Preferences, please.
Open macOS System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Microphone. Enable Cubase here.
