I’m more interested in when the maintenance releases for 12 arrive - I certainly won’t risk installing the first version.
Why, how much risk is there really? Say 12 comes out and is a total mess, you can still keep using 11 if needed. Which pretty much leaves you in the same place as not installing in the first place.
Seems like the only thing you’d actually risk loosing is the time spent doing the install.
Well, there’s the potential time invested in registering using the new system and trying out 12. Plus a chance (small I know) that 12 would muck up the licensing for 11. It seems better to wait until I know it’s stable.
As I described above, there is almost no interaction between the licensing systems for 11 and earlier (eLicenser) and 12 onwards (Steinberg Licensing). When upgrading from an eLicenser version of an application to a Steinberg Licensing version, there is an eLicenser transaction to mark your eLicenser licence as “non upgradeable”. This stops the licence from being used for another person’s upgrade to a Steinberg Licensing version of the application and turns the Steinberg Licensing licence into a perpetual one. The “non upgradeable” eLicenser licence continues to work normally for eLicenser versions of the application.
There is no problem having an eLicenser version of an application and a Steinberg Licensing version installed at the same time. For a while, I had Dorico Pro 3.5 (eLicenser) and Dorico Pro 4 (Steinberg Licensing) installed at the same time.
steiny website down! is it a hint?
No it’s Sunday…
?? 23 /3 is indeed a date , like a Wednesday is a day
seems like tomorrow is indeed the day ? !!
That doesn’t look fake, at all…
Maybe make sure the Download Manager, and Activation Manager are up to date… help spread the load out a bit at the least. Couldn’t hurt right?
Maybe it’s a syncopated release notice…
What is another 1 day to find out.
…and another Cubase Wednesday is on horizon🌅
Hi Cubase people,
It would appear that the Download Assistant is not working…is this a sign???
Just asking for a friend!!!
Check with your friend again. Is it working now?
Steve,
Nope, its hanging on the auto update screen!!
The DA auto-update hanged for me too yesterday. I then just ran the DA installation program manually instead, and then the DA worked fine.
So it was only a sign of something being off with the auto-update.
Hm… Sounds like a file can’t be modified by the installer. Maybe uninstall, restart and reinstall?
Hey,
Does it means that Cubase 12 won’t work on older (than 21H2) windows 10 ?
Sorry to ask, but my pc is stuck on version 1607 (and works really fine). Should I have to say farewell to all cubase updates from now on ?
It may be that windows updates are stuck (which happens rarely - but not rarely enough) and that may need some attention on your machine. There are plenty of microsoft and other articles online about problems no longer receiving updates….
well the post is gone from facebook!!
a scam or steinberg or somebody ask them to remove it ? mmm
