I do have a midi keyboard (digital piano) plugged in to my UR24C.
Does that count as a midi remote device?

I closed it, tried again. I get this (I got this the first time also but didn’t screenshot it).
I click OK (nothing else to do it seems…well unless I click the X) and of course being Cubase it does not abort but carries on.
Then it appears again:
Again vstconnect but this time vst connect.vst3 whatever that is.
I do get such annoying msgBoxes occasionally. I usually restart my PC, checking my internet connection first, and most of the time everything gets back to normal. However, some times it’s tedious

Also , have you got Automap installed by any chance ? i’ve seen this with Automap duplicating and wrapping the Vst connect file and causing Cubase to crash .
This is due to some type of problem with; that’s if you use it the e-licenser. Check if it’s upgraded. That was my case. Every now and then they upgrade.

Den eLizenser zu aktualisieren ist eine gute Idee. Davor auch noch schauen ob der Library Manager noch up dates hat. Bei mir hat das geholfen.

Also, I tried to determine if it was a particular plugin by removing all VST3 plugins and adding them back in groups. I thought maybe I was close to figuring it out but it was inconsistent.
I am able now to start a new project; something in the project I was trying to load seems to be causing it.

I’m sorry, I don’t see Cubase in the stack. To me it looks like the crash is totally out of Cubase. Please, double-check your hardware is OK.

Steinberg support have been responsive and helpful. They told me the issue in Velvet_x64.dll and ucrtbase.dll and gave me instructions to update my Yamaha driver and nvidea drivers.
I was not able to follow their instructions to the letter but the problematic project does now load.
I suggest anybody in the same situation does the same (i.e. open a support ticket with Steinberg).
