Cubase 12 M4a conversions / reading in cubase (mpeg 4 audio)

Being that cubase does not read M4a files I normally convert and then import into cubase. many performers I am hired to work for send me m4a files. Is there an easy way to get cubase 12 to read, or convert those files? OR, will wavelab do a conversion on those? Thanks for any info.

Wavelab Pro can load m4a files.

Also, SpectraLayers One (that comes with Cubase) can do that conversion.
