Cubase 12 not printing mixdown effects

Hello all, on my first project on QB 12 and am trying to render an mp3 mixdown via project>export>audio mixdown. I came from QB 9 and never had a problem there.
the mixdown goes well, all tracs are present but are absent effects, a pair of reverbs used in the project…have read the manual and tried various setting to no avail. as an example the manual screen shot left column shows various box’s checked( drums guitars etc) the project has 31 trac’s so I got 31 mixdowns! the other attempts only stereo out was selected…file format-no preset, mpeg1 high quality mode bit rate 128kb/s, interleavened,.and lastly.effects ,after manual check +master/groups was selected… can’t figure it out so hope some one can help! version12.0.70, win 10, babyface pro… have another odd thing happening in sample editor but will try my luck later…would appreciate the help thx Danc

Hi,

Could you please attach a screenshot of the Export Audio Mixdwon window?

yes, thank you of course> due to limited computer experience have to research a bit.

To take a screenshot, simply press the “Print Screen” key on your computer keyboard.
In a new post, press Ctrl + V to paste the screenshots image.

thank you mlib, was struggling to make what I have to work! I must apologize, a neighbor has a high end facility I sent an mp3 file of the song to him went over to listen on some nice barefoot speakers and could hear the effects. will still take a screen shot though…if I hit stop when playing the song on the project window I hear an obvious tail, on the rendered mp3, if stopped I do not hear that tail…It fooled me…maybe a ez fix: in sample editor working a piano part ,when pulling a note sharp or flat hunting the right note sometimes a note refuses to stay where I put it. should I post another thread? thx for the screenshot tip…Danc

When you render your song into an MP3 file or WAV file (or any audio file format) it is as if you recorded the output of Cubase onto tape. If you stop the tape, the recorded reverb stops too.

right you are and boy do I feel foolish!

screen shot of audio mixdown window…should you spot something amiss please let me know. thanks again…Danc

Hi,

Does it work, if you choose the Single Channel Selection, please?

As Martin said, the only thing that doesn’t look right is that you’ve selected “Multiple” under “Channels” when you only need a Single channel (“Stereo Out”).
Otherwise your export settings look fine.

It might be worth noting that an MP3 file @ 128kB/s is considered low quality by today’s standards. I do not export anything to MP3 unless I am forced to due to audible compression artifacts. Especially on data rates below 320kB/s.
If you are concerned about storage space, “flac” is a lossless codec that preserves the audio quality but gives you a bit smaller file size compared to WAV or AIFF.

thank you for responding…to be honest this is the first project opportunity on Qb12 coming from Qb9, so many more options to consider! I assumed if rendering a single channel , single channel would the obvious choice, same logic applying to multiple channels. I must have missed that info in the manual. I will try single channel for the entire mix , wonder is that a valid choice for a single mono track as well? will let you know…I live in a rural area and within the last year high speed internet has become available !! but if I attempt to send a wave fill my server indicates the file is to large,so if I want to share music on website etc I currently use mp3. very glad for the data rate info will look into that as well as a different server…appreciate your help
