Cubase 12 Pro Crashing Constantly

Cubase 12 pro crashing on me so much today, it’s never been this bad.

PC specs:
OS
Windows 10
Processor
Intel(R) Core™ i9-10980XE CPU @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz
RAM
256 GB (256 GB usable)
System
64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Here’s the latest DMP file: Dropbox - Cubase 12.0.40.317 64bit 2024.5.23 14.07.18.109.dmp - Simplify your life

I’m not even remotely close to peaking CPU.
I’ve tried opening in safe mode with no improvement, so I doubt it’s a preference corruption, but I could be wrong?

I’m wondering…

  1. if it could have anything to do with my auto save or backup settings? I auto save every 10min, and my backup versions settings rarely go above 5, but maybe they should.
  2. I realized I did have an external backup drive connected, with windows set to automatically save files to it, and maybe that’s interfering?

Open to ideas and thanks in advance!

Hi,

First of all, update to the latest 12.0.70, please.

On it…

Updated to 12.0.70, still crashing. I might try to transfer over the data to a new project in case the project has been corrupted…

I’m running lots of orchestral VSTs and a few fx sends, but CPU isn’t even peaking a quarter of the way.

Hi,

Could you attach the latest 12.0.70 DMP file, please?
