I’m not raising this as a specific issue yet because I just can’t pin down cause and effect. However I’m finding the Cusbase 13 is like playing a game of Minesweeper. You go to click on something quite simple and …BOOM! It just blows up like this or more often it terminates completely.
I’ve had this 3 times this morning already. I’ve lost project changes and and had to restart Cubase. Its getting rather frustrating.
All I was doing this particular time was changing Track Controls Settings but it wasn’t the same action that blew it up each time. Another time it was just when changing an Instrument patch selection. In previous days its been completely different places around Cubase.
I certainly have never had this type of unstability with Cubase 11 or 12.
I’ve just searched Nvidia’s site and found a more recent driver (31/10/2023).
I don’t really follow their versioning schemes though. This one is v537.70 (WHQL), also known as 31.0.15.3770.
I’ve already updated to it.
For the life of me but I believe my N12 is afraid of me pulling the trigger on the 13 when it is released, and has behaved impeccably these last few weeks. I even had a crash in a bridged vsti, and it endured it with a smiley face, and did not crashed, only had to restart that vsti. Not a single crash, or hiccup, in heavy projects and low buffers! That alone was worth the Cubase 13 release!
Same here, Cubase 13 crashes randomly. There’s no apparent culprit - I just click on something and there’s a crash. The last time I was just changing the quantize grid setting. I have to use Cubase 12 to get my work done.

Hi Martin,
Has anything come to light from the various DMP files I’ve sent over?
I’d be happy to hear if its attributable to a VST or something specific that I can change. I’ve already ensured that Windows 10 and my graphics and sound drivers are up to date.
I was using Cubase Pro 12 all yesterday and no instabilities at all but I don’t want to be a killjoy about C13 and would love to use it instead, if I can be more confident its not going to blow up on me suddenly.
What I might try is to remove all the VSTs from C13 and put them back in slowly to see if instability is introduced.
I had simmilar crashes yesterday just messing with C13 there were no apparent reproducable steps to do this , as you say it’s random things and it just poofs to desktop. I also had a few freezes as well that required task manager to quit.
