Cubase 13 crashing constantly

Hi,

Do you know last steps here, please? Both crashes are exactly the same.

Reported to Steinberg. Thank you.

Hi Martin, wow, thanks for quick response. I’m nowhere near my MAC today but the support ticket (ID# 593932) has an attached IPs

Yes. The last thing I did was identical. I switched to the (Timewarp-Free warp) cursor and and clicked on an audio file in a group folder. Before it could even apply a marker it shutdown, Identical on both occasions.

There is none there. No file is being generated. I’ve had no crash dumps for over twelve months. I only had one crash dump file for C12 but that crash was totally my fault.

While I understand this may not be a solution for most, in my case the crashes had become so unbearable that I ended up doing a Reset This PC (and while at it installed the latest Windows 11 23H2 update). It’s been stable ever since I installed back on a fresh OS. Will report back if that changes.

Another 4 before getting a report with this one. Very buggy as is. nOt just shutting down. But chords not working. Etc

Usually crashing is a plugin or virtual instrument or some addon or hardware etc, something external of Cubase. 3rd party software can be a nightmare. Look at what you have loaded, try booting it with no pluggins etc and see how stable it is…

I had issues but for me it was an older version of BiasFX2. It’s been stable since I updated. Windows 11 11th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i5-11400F @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz

Hi,

What do you mean by this, please?

Hi,

The crash is in a known area.

This is going to be fixed in the 1st maintenance update.

Just random little glitchy things ie. Sound will just stop working on chord pads, instrument tracks/midi…But if I delete said track and immediately cmd + z the track will come back with the full functionality with sound again. Same everything. It’s like it needed an internal soft reset to work. Really weird. Never seen anything like it

Hi,

Try to increase your Audio Device’s Buffer Size, please.

Buffer size always adjusted to highest rate unless vocal tracking

Here it is, in case you dont have access to that area

Hi,

Thank you for sharing.

I can see Cubase tries to restore the view. Could you make a screenshot of the project in Cubase 12 (to see, how the windows are arranged on your side), please?

I’m afraid I can’t remember which project I was editing at that time nor where I was editing it, either in my studio with 2 external monitors or on my laptop on the go, I think the latter, so does this help[?
sorry to be so vague

And just another update, since your request for the ips file I have used Cubase 13 a few times, on the macbook, without a crash. This is very strange as I was unable to use it last week without it crashing, same projects, same laptop, same installation, I have done absolutely nothing to the config.

Hi,

Thank you very much for the update.
