HI all, I watched a video earlier today of the new Cubase 13 and saw it was now possible to route VST`s audio and other audio directly to an Audio track and record it. I upgraded my Elements 12 to 13 and it does not seem possible, is it a Pro only thing. Cheers Glyn.

Yes, this has been in Cubase for ages. You could route the output of any Bus to the Input of an Audio track.

Should also be available in Cubase 13 Elements.

Hi Johnny, I thought it should be but when I open a new audio track the dialog box only shows my Audio Interface’s outputs, no drop down menus for instruments, racks etc., so I’m baffled. Cheers Glyn.

I can confirm, the feature is not available in Cubase Elements 13, nor in Cubase Artist 13.
My opinion is, the description on the web is incorect and the feature is Cubase Pro (Nuendo) only, same as it was in the past.

Just came here to say I am also disappointed this isn’t working on Elements despite being advertised. I sent a message to club Cubase (the livestream e-mail) and Greg Ondo tested it. He also wasn’t able to make it work so he passed that information to Steinberg for further clarification.

I’d like to add to the grumble that this feature isn’t available… It’s one of the top 3 reasons for me upgrading.
I really hope it gets added, as advertised, as it will save messing around with rendering and exports, improve workflow, and should be widely available IMHO.

Let’s put it this way: Steinberg advertised this feature to be present in Elements. If it doesn’t get included in the next maintenace release, sue them for false advertising. And make sure to notify some music journalist about it.

Anybody gotten any official word from Steinberg about this? I created a ticket to them a week ago asking if this feature is/will be implemented in Elements/Artist but no answer so far.

My experience has never been great with support. Which is such a shame as the software is amazing

Sorry, the routing from bus to bus is not possible in Cubase Elements. It was an error on the web site and it should not be written there anymore.
Error or not - it was false advertising. Seriously, sue Steinberg if you can. Or, if you don’t want to go to court, you should at least be able to get your money back.

Hi, I appreciate that ‘it should not have been there’ but it was, as I stated it is the only thing missing from Elements to make it perfect for me which is why I purchased it straight away, for this what I consider to be a function that should be in every DAW not to be there is a major disappointment. Surely this could be implemented in the next update. Cheers Glyn.
