Cubase 13 - how to minimize the hub?

Why on earth can’t I minimize the hub? So it’s either I see the hub or I quit Cubase? Is this some kind of joke? What did you do to the hub?
I really hope this is a bug and not intended to be like this, because man it’s a complete disaster. WHICH PROGRAM ON EARTH DOESN’T MINIMIZE???

Hi,

This is not new in Cubase 13, or am I wrong? As far as I know, it was always like this with the Steinberg Hub.

No this is new. Cubase 12 had a separate taskbar that stayed on top which you could minimize AND the hub itself had a “cancel” button that shut down the hub without exiting Cubase. Now you can’t do that, there is no “cancel” button on the hub and no extra taskbar that you can minimize. In fact, they attached that taskbar to the hub, removed the minimize button and the cancel button and now it’s either “quit Cubase” or “Have the freaking hub in your face with no button to minimize or close it”

I’m extremely annoyed as I paid for the upgrade just to find out that I cannot minimize the freaking program’s hub. Not to mention how buggy some stuff inside Cubase feels like for example the drag-to-zoom function where you click-drag upwards or downwards on the ruler to zoom in/out and move around the timeline. This is nuts.

Hi,

I see. On Mac, the Cancel button remains.

So it is NOT possible anymore to turn off the HUB at startup in the preferences???
If so, that’s annoying

I’m not aware of a setting that allows me to turn off the Control Hub, but even if there is one, I never had the need to de-activate it and I’ve been a user since Cubase Pro 8.

They had this nice taskbar de-attached from the hub for so many years and it was really easy to use and now suddenly boom, “you can’t minimize the hub while opening Cubase anymore, thank you for your order it’s 99 Eur”.

Hi,

No, this is not possible. This preference has been replaced by: Show News in Hub.

Now that I’m thinking it of, it wouldn’t be possible to turn off the control hub now, since they attached the main DAW’s taskbar to it so it would be basically like closing the program.

What a silly move to do that… I mean how no one in the engineering team didn’t realize that now you can’t MINIMIZE the control hub when no project is opened? Like how is that even possible?

Close a project that had the audio performance window running then try loading a ‘deleted’ or ‘moved’ project from the hub recent list.

you get a ‘file not found’ error then the hub disappears (at least here on my Win10) - leaving just the audio performance window running (with the ‘menu bar’ switched off on on mine) - you have to close the audio performance window to get the hub to reappear.

Steinberg! Please put the option to not display the hub back into the next maintenance. I do not care about seeing any of that stuff when I open Cubase Pro 13. I just want to create a new project and start working. I can go to your channel or YouTube to look for videos if I want to or need to. Steinberg probably thinks it is convenient but it’s more annoying and we should have the option to not see the hub at all. Please give us this option again to turn the hub off. Thank you!

I’ve always turned the “hub” thing off in Cubase for however long it’s been a thing. I’d like to be able to turn it off in Cubase 13 Pro too please…
What are my chances?

Hi,

This option is not available anymore in Cubase 13. Sorry.
