please consider removing the menu bar from the mixer windows, as it was in C12. Thank you!
Apparently this place is a âtrollish moshpit of pure, entitled idiotryâ according to the redditors. hahaha
The unscientific poll also only lasted two days, at initial launch. And the last comment was from 3 days ago. So those are all hasty remarks. I was all smiles and bubble gum at first too, until I dug into it more and started working on a project in it.
You can do this yourself. Please do a forum search or have a look in the manual.
This arrogance makes me laugh and sad at the time. Yes dude, the 80% or so in this thread including me that hate the new GUI are all wrong, and youâre right, of course. It couldnât be any other way.
Letâs go through your ridiculous list and examine your thoughts just for fun.
â1. You use wrong brightness settings.â
I guess you are certain of this because you came over to each of our homes and verified that we are all using the wrong brightness settings?
â2. You use wrong monitorsâ
Well, thatâs too broad. What would you even consider âwrong monitorsâ?
"3. Your video card drivers are outdated
4. Your monitor is outdated
5. Your video card is outdated"
Again, I guess you are certain of this because you came over to each of our homes and verified that we all have outdated video card drivers, monitors, and video cards?
Well, what if I told you (and Iâm not sure youâre ready to hear this), that me and a lot of other people have a state of the art computer called a Mac Studio, which doesnât really have a video card like you think of one because itâs in the same chip as the CPU and the RAM, a type of chip called SoC? What if I told you that this magical computer doesnât need drivers like a typical PC video card, because if they need to, the drivers get updated with each OS release?
And what if I told you, that if you have one of these machines, most likely you have a nice 4K monitor to go along with it, even if itâs not the latest Apple monitor, but usually a Samsung, LG, or something like that.
" 6. You are outdated."
I honestly donât even know what to say to this one, but I find it so hilarious that Iâm havin troble typng hhahahahhhaahahhhhaaaa
But well, I guess youâre picturing someone using a Pentium 4 with 16 MB of RAM and an internal IDE hard drive, along with a CRT no brand monitor, which would be the only case in which your comments would have any merit.
Well, itâs hard to take offense when somebody insults you in such an articulate, elegant way. In fact, Iâm copying and pasting that phrase to use on a lot of things from now on.
I was shocked by the GUI at first as well, but after some tweaking, i actually like the new design already more than C12, especially the mixer.
In most of the screenshots iâve seen, the problem is with the high contrast colors. When you set the color scheme to a warm grey, and reduce the track colorâs saturation (to 45 % in my case), it looks much easier to the eye.
See pics:
It may also actually matter what screen size/resolution you have. I remember that the major GUi change of Cubase 10 (or was it 11 ?) looked horrible on my old 22" screen. When i changed to 27", everything looked really beautiful.
The inconsistency at some places and the bright white menu will hopefully be fixed.
lol!!!
+1 here that dislike the new GUI. Itâs look so much like Studio One or Logic.
Flat.
If they tried to copy some one why not copy ProTools?
Terrible Update.
The phrase is an American weird peculiarity, universally used there. Other countries such as England and Australia, we say âI couldnât care lessâ. I donât know how the American variant arose linguistically as it does not make proper sense.
well tweaking can help, and getting used to it.
and for those asking to go to C12 GUI, well it wont happen.
hope steinberg address fast enough some of the issues with the GUI, especially text color and contrast(for example too much white on track header on project window, names, and all icons, mute solo etcâŚ) , and give the user some options regarding text in various areas in Cubase
Just got its tonight. Absolutely love the look, it was worth the upgrade for that alone to me (OK, along with the "mix on the fly " fader
Itâs just an error on an old idiom that seems to have spread over time. Because it logically doesnât make sense to leave out the negative participle as that changes the meaning altogether.
After @Xa_Ramâs tips and screenshots, and @steveâs reminder of the Mixconsole Sections colors, I spent the whole evening yesterday tweaking stuff. The color flip of the text from white to black at some point, and reducing the saturation of ALL colors ALL around helped very much, in my case. It seems that colors got a boost this time(?) How else to explain such a difference from 12 to 13 with the âsameâ prefs?
Still trying to adapt. If I donât have 13 set-up as I want it in a week, Iâll start begging for pref files left and right and swap them around like an idiot. âDonât talk to me man, just pass me the prefs real quick.â
After spending my first hour or so in Cubase Pro 13, Iâm satisfied for the most part.
However, the Mute/Solo buttons are driving me nuts. Seriously, is this the best that could be done? I hope for an improvement because my perfectionist machinist eyes canât stand to look at this unfinished business. All I can see when I look at the screen is the imbalance. Terrible, really.
Oh, and those FADER CAPS! Just kidding on that one. They donât really bother me.
But, the Mute/Solo buttons ⌠not good at all. This is actually my first complaint since starting with LE 4 and, shortly thereafter, Studio 5. Man, I sure did love Studio 5 .
I do, too! As an American. Unfortunateley, many others donât. It has bothered me for ages .
You shouldnât of told people how to form theyâre sentences. Their grown men, is correcting people youâre soul purpose?
THANK YOU, I agree completely those Mute Solo buttons are the worst to look at, makes working on C13 uncomfortable. The bright white buttons burn my eyes. I donât understand why flatter is better⌠because it really is not.
Making the mixer look like Studio One is a huge fail. We donât wanna look like them.
Dear Steinberg, please give us a Cubase 12 skin for Cubase 13, and allow users to choose between the 2 options. Give us a fully customizable options panel for Gui. I want all my insert and send slots visible. I want rounded and dark mute and solo buttons. The new features in 13 are great. Love the stereo mono button, tap tempo, and the new options for importing tracks from projects. Just please, give us back our C12 Ui⌠thank youâŚ
Yeah, the Mute and Solo buttons could have a tiny bit of gradient, instead of just flat saturated colors. But overall, Iâm okay with the GUI aesthetic. Itâs cleaner for sure.
But most importantly, Cubase 13 now opens and closes projects at a much faster pace. Which is very sweet. It feels more brisk and fast now. Thatâs what I love about this one. Iâm sure I can get used to the GUI over a period of time.
