Cubase 13 Mix console Mono Stereo visibility icons gone?

Cubase mixer had the Mono stereo icons at the bottom on the name tag , now they are not there , is this permeant or is it a tick box somewhere , im visually impaired and rely on these icons quite a bit

They are present in @dfhagai vid at 15:25 … maybe it is a preference/setting that you need to adjust.

Not with a large project , if you look at the scroll bar you will see im not even seeing half my tracks

Hi,

It depends on the Channel Width. If you increase it, you will see the icon. Of course, if there is no place to display the icon, it’s not there.

Then it’s useless , what’s the point of have the icon if you have to zoom out every time you want to scroll through 200 tracks ? Also the fader caps with one eye look blurring AF , giving me double vision with one eye , who ever thought about this graphics update needs demoting , it’s horrid

BLURRY and why isn’t there room for the icons ?

Hi,

In Cubase 12 you didn’t see the track type icon. Now, you get this extra information, so there is no place for the Mono/Stereo information if the channel is too tight.

@Martin.Jirsak
Im visually impaired and these fader caps are horrid , i can’t focus at all on them the outlines make me feel all double visioned and what about the size of the Panner It’s tiny , does not expand any more with the size of the fader vertically .?
Here have a pic of my spare eye for good will

Hi,

I’m sorry, I cannot change what Cubase 13 looks like.

To me, the panner looks much more prominent, especially thanks to the much more visible background line, if you choose others but C panning. You are right, the Panner doesn’t increase the hight together with the fader. If you need bigger panner, Alt + double-click the panner to get a big one in a dedicated window.

Please post equivalent pic(s) of C12 so we can all compare fairly your concerns…

So you are telling me that the design of theses fader caps are staying so they send your eye blurred are they ?

TOO YOU your not visually impaired are you ?

Hi,

Yes. Same as you are telling us your experience, I’m telling you mine. I don’t see anything wrong with it.

Not really. But you quoted me, so I said, that myself, I cannot change it. I didn’t say if this design is going to remain or change. My guess is, it’s going to remain at least for some time.

Actually, I am in multiple ways.

You really aint getting it are you , you are one person , 1 mare mortal , there are loads of Cubase users that have visual impairment but if you feel you are more important than Steinberg customer market then , somethings seriously wrong here

Martin didn’t design the gui, and he can’t change it. He’s not trying to be mean!

It’s a shame some of the C13 changes seem like a step backwards to some, but that’s almost impossible to avoid, unfortunately - somebody is always going to be unhappy about something when it comes to change.

Placing a Feature Request and then doing the best with what’s available is probably the best one can do if they are in that situation. That might mean working with C13, staying on C12, or moving to another DAW …

Then you should know my plight , oohh look mono stereo icons not matter how big or small the tracks are C12

Hi,

I’m sorry if you find any of my reactions mean. It might be a language barrier. English is not my first language.

Sorry, this is not about any visual impairment at all. This is just a feature, which has changed and you prefer the previous way of the feature. For me, I don’t care if the track is Stereo or Mono, so I don’t need this icon at all.

I didn’t say, you are not allowed to want this icon back. I said I cannot put it back. I explained, how the feature works in the current version. It’s not personal at all from my side.

I completely understand , I’m being a bit hot headed as usual , please don’t take offence , it’s just change , i’m sure i’ll figure out another workflow because believe it or not i do like most of the improvements .
Sorry if i was coming across rude . C13 seems great bar a few opening day grumbles

IOW, They move the headstones but don’t move the bodies…

and ftr, These sales people vids seem to be reading the same script… “Modern” …“Modern”…
NO… It isn’t. Especially the behaviour which is what really matters.

I can only imagine how someone w/ a visual impairment would get through this… :scream:

Somethings like this can be annoying , but it’s all subjective , the worst part is the fader caps outer edges look all blurred , horrid BUT over all the C13 seems a very stable update , 187 track C12 project loaded with no issues , just a couple of new release bugs
