Cubase 13 - No ARA Extensions Dropdown for Audio Channels?

Title. I had it in Cubase 12 with SpectraLayers 9. Just installed 13 this morning as well as SL 10, but there is no dropdown for extensions. Don’t see anything in the help as to how to get this activated. Anyone have an idea?

It seems to be behaving normally here. Where is the specific menu you are referring to - perhaps a screenshot will help clarify. Also do you mean that the menu itself isn’t available, or the Extension you want to use isn’t included on the menu?

I’m referring to exactly what you are pointing to in that image. It hasn’t been available since I’ve updated to Cubase 13.

In the info line it’s grayed out, makes me think it’s just not loading the extensions for whatever reason?

Note that it’s not a “hidden” option in the inspector either. I’ve loaded up SpectraLayers 10 standalone just fine, fwiw.

Hi @chaosbringer,

when …

  • the inspector does not show an “Extension” field
  • the “Extension” entry in the “Setup Info Line” is disabled
… the Cubase cannot find any ARA Plug-In. So we need to find out why SL9 or SL 10 is not recognised as a ARA Plug-In. When you have installed SL10, the SL9 Plug-In will be replaced with 10.

Have you checked that SL was successfully and correct installed? The Plug-In should be here
Windows : C:\Program Files\Steinberg\SpectraLayers 10\ARA\VST3\SpectraLayers.vst3
Mac : /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/SpectraLayers.vst3

Maybe it’s a good idea to uninstall SL9 and SL10. Then re-install only SL10

Is SL back as an ARA-Plugin?
Michael.

Yup looks to be there. I’ll try the uninstall/reinstall.

Is SL back as an ARA-Plugin?

I’ve not actually confirmed that but I would be surprised if it wasn’t?
