Cubase 13 - Pitch Bend bugs

I ran into the same problem (as the topic starter).
I did a few tests to exclude all kinds of variables (e.g. the connected VSTi, the register choice of the midi notes, etc.)
I have:
created a new empty project,
created 1 new midi track,
created 1 empty part.
With the midi channel of the track on a fixed channel I can simply draw in pitch bend in the empty part.
But…
With the midi channel on “Any” the “value at Project Cursor” in the Pitchbend Lane jumps to the value -1 immediately upon entering the part, and remains at that value! (does not change with the currently drawn pitchbend)
(However, the List editor still states that the Pitchbend data is sent to midi channel 1)

In projects where a VSTi (Trillian in multipatch mode, hence the need for “Any midi channel” output) is linked to the midi track, all kinds of transpose effects occur:

  • all midi notes are transposed down by 2 semitones.
  • the input midi device also sounds transposed.

However, that only happens after a stop!!
Or rather, it happens through the stop!
The stop triggers the transposition.
(you can actually hear this if the VSTi has a “tail”)
These effects do not occur during the first run.
And the effect is “reset” when you restart the Locator outside the part.
(the Value at Project Cursor then jumps back to blank)
I hope there is someone who can say something sensible about this.
I can possibly make a small video of all these Cubase behaviors.

Additional: the effect only occurs with pitch bend that is drawn with the midichan on “Any”
But now even stranger (discovered by chance): if I let the part run through 1x with midichan. set to 1 again, all transpose effects disappear.
Now I’m completely baffled.
