I’m using the latest version of Cubase 13 Pro (just updated yesterday) and find that it freezes/hangs while going through my usual project archive procedure. That is, I queue up a multiple channel export of all channels “Inserts and Strip”, but it always freezes on one of the group channels for the dry batch. It completes the first two but then the third just never starts, and the application sits there doing nothing until I force-close it. Help?!
Hi,
Are you on Mac or Windows, please? Does Cubase create the *.ips/dmp file, please?
Mac: macOS Console utility > Crash Reports (or ~user/Library/Logs/Diagnostic Reports).
Win: %userprofile%/Documents/Steinberg/Crash Dumps
Sorry, I should have mentioned I’m running on Windows 10 Pro x64. It looks like it did create another crash dump today when I tried the operation again. I’m attaching it here.

Hi,
Reported to Steinberg. Thank you.
I just wanted to update this thread after finding that the same problem persists with the Cubase 13.0.40 maintenance release. I’m attaching today’s crash report in case it helps.

I thought as long as I’m evaluating Nuendo 13 during the sale, I’d try doing the same audio mixdown as is failing in Cubase 13. I find it also fails in Nuendo 13, though at a different point in the process. I’m attaching the dump logs for that freeze here too in case it helps.

Hi,
I have updated the Steinberg report. Thank you.
No, thank you!
Hello, I have the same problem on Mac OS using an M1 machine. When I try to mixdown a project it takes forever. The only way I found is to do real time mixdown.
I’m also on Cubase Pro 13.0.40
This a terrible issue…I will be so glad if there is a solution. I’m in the middle of an important work, in wich I’ve to do lots of mixdown.
Thanks in advance for some help.
I ended up purchasing the crossgrade to Nuendo 13 Pro during the sale. I tried the same audio mixdown again today with the minor update 13.0.41 installed and had the same problem. I’m attaching the latest freeze dump here.

Hi,
The crash is still the very same, as you had in Cubase 13.0.30.
Figured as much. I was hoping the minor update might fix that bug. The only workaround I’ve found so far (thanks, @MLP!) is to run it all in real time, which takes bloody well forever. I hope they fix this soon.
I found some more details about this bug. I found that after bouncing all audio tracks edits, variaudio, etc, cubase can do fast mixdown. Also not sure if the problem maybe it is connected with some vst instruments I have, anyway all vst3. I tried to freeze these vst, and I get the same bug as when try to do not real time mixdown, the Mac OS color wheal spinning forever. Anyway, I felt relieved that it’s possible to do real time mixdown. But I still hope this issue is resolved, as cubase pro it was a bit expensive investment for me.
Thanks for the additional details! I find I can do the fast rendering of the default and DRY stuff, but as soon as I start on the CSP it fails. As long as I switch to real time rendering for CSP and CSPM, then it will work albeit far slower. I’ve got Nuendo 13 Pro cranking through tracks in the background even now. I really hope they fix this soon.
Any movement on fixing this, Steinberg? It’s been about six months and project archival still doesn’t work properly.
