Cubase 13 Pro microphone not working

Hello,
microphone is not working via Cubase 13 Pro, please advise how to get it working. Microphone is working with Windows 11 and Motu not with Cubase 13 Pro.

Current set up
Thinkpad P1, Win 11 Pro, Motu M2, Microkorg XL plus, Adam Audio T5V, Shure Beta 58A Microphone.

What settings could be checked from Cubase 13 Pro to get microphone working also with it? It worked once, but for some reason stopped working.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Make sure, the correct (MOTU) ASIO driver is selected in the Studio > Studio Setup > Audio System.

Then open Studio > Audio Connections > Inputs and add a Mono Bus. Select the correct Device Port (your physical input).

The add a Mono Audio Track, and as the source, select Mono In 1. Enable Monitor and you are ready to record.

Thank you for the information. Please could you send screenshots also?

Hi,

Sorry, I don’t own MOTU device. Could you send the screenshots? Then we can see, how does it look like on your side and correct it.

How to check your third point?
The add a Mono Audio Track, and as the source, select Mono In 1. Enable Monitor and you are ready to record.

Hi,

So far it looks OK.

Now add a mono Audio Track to the project and show us the Inspector, where we can see the Input and Output of the given track, please.

Thanks again, quick answer. Could you please send menu paths to the points you mentioned in your last reply.

Mono audio track added, how to show inspector?

On top right of your screencap there is a row of buttons for showing lower zone left zones, right zone…should be the 2nd of the left zone ones.

Sorry for the late response. Now the inspector is visible. How to proceed, please inform.

Enable the channel monitor - There is a button to select this with a speaker icon to the right of the red “R” Record arm button in the inspector.

Your track has mono input 2 assigned…is the mic plugged into input 2?

Please inform what should be changed, because we are not able to record yet.

So as you didn’t answer the question is your mic plugged into input 2 and posted another pic with input 1 selected I guess we can assume your mic is plugged to input 1?

  1. Do you see the meter for input 1 on the front of the presonus moving when you speak into the mic?
  2. Do you see any meters in Cubase moving when you speak into the mic?
Also to rule out a plugin issue…don’t use any template just create a new track with no plugins and try it there.
