Cubase 13 problem after installing MPC software (DMP txt incl)

Hey guys

Using C13 on Win10 machine. Everything used to work flawlessly.

Last week i installed drivers for the MPC studio controller and software. Ever since then, once Cubase is closed, I cannot load it up again. Nothing happens. No error. I have to reboot or re sign into windows in order to get it to load again. Strangely when it boots up, it will say it crashed last time. There is a dmp file but i have no clue what it means. Anyone with some know how would like to look at that file? Id appreciate it.

BTW I only mention the MPC software because it started AFTER i installed that. It must have something to do with that.

Edit: Here is the dmp analysis.

Hi,

Because of this:

it looks like the well-known Microsoft issue with their old WDM MIDI Driver. Enable the WinRT driver in Studio Setup > MIDI Ports Setup, please.

Cubase crashed hard when i enabled that. I cant enable it. Cubase will lock up hard.

The thing is, Cubase was working for years the way its setup. Nothing changed. Zero. So i have no idea whats going.

Hi,

Attach the *.dmp file, please.
Win: %userprofile%/Documents/Steinberg/Crash Dumps

I donæt understand this. Before, you said, you installed a new driver. So did you change anything or not?

Yes, the MPC software. But i fail to see how thats causing a sudden defect with cubase in midi in general? I’ve not had midi/driver issues since prob 2000 with Cubase. So i be very surprised. I guess i could uninstall that and see what happens. Thanks Martin.

Hi,

The MPC software (most probably) installed the MPC MIDI driver, which could be faulty for Cubase or Windows system in general.

Thats really a bummer. I guess when uninstalling it will remove that driver? The dmp file points to the same midi issue btw.

Uninstalled everything MPC. We’ll see how it goes…thanks again for helping.

So ive uninstalled everything MPC software. Incl its drivers. That seems to “fix” the problem. Really a bummer. I liked its software for beatmaking. Wasted 200 bucks on that MPC studio controller. Ah well.

Thanks again for your input.

Hi,

Get in touch with the company’s support, please.

As one of the MPC beta testers, good luck with that one haha.

Is this the original Studio silver/black or the newer one with the touch screen?? I still have the black one (it was my gateway to the MPC Live, which Cubase completely buried in the dirt), and I don’t think that thing has been supported for quite awhile. Those drivers might be ancient, I don’t think the driver for my Live 1 has been updated in a bit either, but the last time I actually had the software installed was a couple years ago so not sure. I’ve only been testing the standalone hardware.

Sadly uninstalling the mpc drivers didnt fix anything. Its a error in WDMAUD.drv. I’ve NEVER had any issues with Cubase. Its frustrating and nothing seems to help…

Hi,

I mentioned the solution in my first post:
