I can’t really tell when this started happening, but it’s getting more and more often. Only happens on big, ressource-hungry projects. They load, and when the Cubase window finally opens at the end of the loading process, it hangs and there is nothing I can do except forcequit and start again / reboot.
I’m having the impression that Kontakt 7 might be a part of the problem (After moving the Kontakt 7 dll out, projects do open but of course there is also much less content loaded to RAM). I uninstalled and reinstalled it without success. Kontakt 8 is out and is supposed to run smoother, but I wouldn’t like paying 100 bucks and not having that issue fixed. Looking at these freezedumps with WinDbg, I see nothing related to Native Instruments.
Hi,
can you provide more specs, please?
Win/Mac, OS, Audiointerface, Cubase version, system specs…?
Do you have new Freeze dumbs?
Doesn’t have to be Kontakt after all…
Hi ! Thank you for your reply.
I’m on Windows 11 24H2, Cubase 13.0.41.
System specs : AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor 3.60 GHz with 64Gb RAM
Audio interface : Antelope Audio Zen Go
Do you have the latest software by Spitfire Audio? Maybe it is Win11 related.
You could also try to contact Spitfire Audio and inquire if this is a known problem and how to adress the issue.
Thank you !
Oh, that one with Eric Whitacre may be misleading, I remember having a crash with this one, but only one of the problematic projects is using this library, and it wasn’t a startup freeze like the others. Sorry about this, I shouldn’t have included this dump file!
