Cubase 13 score editor exported pdf files won't open

Hi,

Please, do it this way:

Hi Martin,
Thank you so much for your help .
I have located the cubase 13 folder now. Could you advise what I have to do with it now? Have I to delete the folder completely?
Thanks

Hi,

Make sure, Cubase doesn’t run. Then:

Hi,

Unfortunately deleting that folder didn’t help. Any other suggestions please?

Hi,

Do you have older Cubase folders there? If yes, could you try to remove/rename all Cubase folders, please?

Can you export PDF from another application?

Hello,
No other Cubase folders in there.
I can export and open a document from word as a PDF.
I think I mentioned before when you ask for info, the file seems very small as in 2mb compared to previous scores I saved when I used cubase 11, they were all about 30mb so it seems it is not exporting all the information from score editor.

Hi,

As it works on my side and the factory reset didn’t work, I’m afraid, I have no other idea at this moment. Sorry.

ok, do you have any ideas of someone else I could contact regarding this as I feel it is something to do with cubase 13 as it worked perfectly on my previous version of cubase.
Thanks

Hi,

I would try to get in contact with the official (your local) Steinberg support. You should mention, you have already tried to trash the preferences folder, same as run Cubase in the Safe Start Mode and Disable Preferences. You can even link this thread.

SAME PROBLEM HERE! DRIVING ME CRAZY!!! PDFs say they are corrupt

This is ridiculous

This is your developers issue and it never was an issue
This is an issue your end somewhere.

You make it impossible to keep the old versions of cubase so therefore work harder to make sure the new versions are the same if not better ?!

This is not true.

Saving pdfs is done in the print dialog. Did you try that or not?

We have tried everything and to be honest, making music is meant to be the hard part not downloading a PDF

There’s some confusion in the previous discussion in this topic, and it’s not clear whether it’s about exporting graphics files of printing pdfs. This might

Cubase does not Export PDFs. The print dialog is used instead, regardless of how other applications might process pdf output.

If you’re willing to give a specific answer to my troubleshooting questions I may be able to assist.

I assume I’m in this email discussion because I can’t print a PDF file in cubase 13
I used to be able to in cubase 11

13 has many glitches and this is one of them and I have been discussing this here and with steinberg and nobody has told me until just now that you can’t print a PDF?

So how I meant to export notation ?

This is not an email discussion. It’s a public discussion on the Steinberg forums.

This has not been stated.

I’m sorry if you cannot understand what I’m saying. If you would like to tell me what language you speak, I will translate.

Are you trying to be rude or just insulting?
I speak perfect English
I have been discussing this
Issue in this forum and on private email with steinberg and nobody can tell me how to export a pdf file or a readable / printable notation file

And to be honest I’m actually past caring. I shall take up plumbing instead.

I bid good day to you

In that case, you are misinterpreting my messages.

File>Print

Then choose a PDF printer.

This is a well documented feature.

Thank you. I have successfully used the Mac Print Dialog to save a score PDF.

However, the issue of the error in the exporting the score as a PDF still stands. If this feature is meant to be replaced with the above, then it should be removed and the documentation updated to prevent further people taring their hair out. Otherwise, its a bug that should be fixed.

I do wonder if there are issues with some of the other export file formats…

Cubase does not export pdfs at all. If you want a pdf use File>Print. Exporting is strictly for creating graphic files like jpg or bitmaps.
