Cubase 13 "Search Mediabay" key command not working?

Normally this key command allows you to open the Mediabay and immediately start typing in the search bar, however this doesn’t appear to work in 13. Anyone else having this problem?

Sorry, that’s a known issue, we’ll sort it out with one of the next updates.

Sorry to say (and not turning up here for month), we did not further work on it, there must be some complexity I was not informed about, internal stuff, can’t elaborate on that here. I’ll take the bug into our next planning. I understand the convenience that got lost.

Hey Joerg,
Thank you for letting us know!,
Hope you can push this to be fixed for the next plannings, as its super time saver.

Cheers.

Hi! I’m very sorry to say, but we weren’t able to address the problem, it is technically not purely MediaBay related and a first fix attempt showed the need to talk with others developers who were occupied as well. When we fix it, the fix will be deployed with Cubase / Nuendo, not with the MediaBay installer. I’ll promise to take the pain to our planners. If there are no urgent problems with the MediaBay 1.2.0 release, I see a realistic chance for a fix in one of the future Cubase / Nuendo maintenance releases.

Cheers,
Jörg

Good news: We were finally able to fix it for the next maintenance

Now that you found this Joerg, could you please have a look at the commands Navigate Up/Down too? They don’t work anymore when inside mediaBay or Track Presets etc. This began in CB13 but I can’t remember if it was in the 0.50 or even before unfortunately, though I can downgrade and check…

Amazing news Joerg
I highly appreciate your efforts making this fix happen great work!

Cheers,
Sam

Thanks for letting me know, I filed an issue for now: CAN-57413 KeyCommands Navigate Up/Down not working in MediaBay (anymore) … it will be given a priority in our bug-review.

thank you so much!

Awesome! To confirm this isn’t in 14 yet but will be coming soon?

Fix will be in 14.0.10, it’s a maintenance update, so it should not take long until release (sorry, no release dates as always  )

The Navigate Up/Down key-commands are working in my actual debug build (“14.0.10 based”). At least on Windows. If you encounter the problem on macOS, I will double-check that. I am not aware about any fixes that have been done (I did not investigate), and there might still be a special situation you run into. I’ll ask our QA to cross-check the failure.

There was another report about cursor keys (up/down) not working as navigate keys in the MediaBay, when certain key-commands where assigned to them (like Track up / down). I believe that is the desired behaviour, but we’ll check back with the product managers.

Hi Joerg, I can’t remember right now and I’m not near a controller, but I think that my issue with Navigate Up/Down is when we’re using a midi remote with a binding to these two commands, not when we’re using shortcuts, since I didn’t see a problem with the default shortcuts at least.

Thank you for the update Joerg!

Thanks! We’ll check that…
